What is a Work-As-Executed (WAE)?

A Work-As-Executed (WAE) is a final drawing and certification that shows the stormwater system on-site has been built exactly in accordance with the approved hydraulic stormwater design. This certification is mandatory for your Occupation Certificate (OC) – your council or certifier will not issue final sign-off without it.

Steps to Obtain Your WAE Certificate

  • Hydraulic Stormwater Plan – You must have a copy of the approved Hydraulic Stormwater Design Plan prepared by Rafzan Engineering or another engineer.

  • Surveyor’s Verification – Engage a licensed surveyor to check and confirm that the stormwater system has been built in accordance with our plan. The surveyor will prepare a WAE survey drawing.

  • Submit to Rafzan Engineering for a Quote – Send the following documents to Rafzan Engineering: 1. The surveyor’s verified WAE survey drawing. 2. A copy of the approved Hydraulic Stormwater Plan

  • Engineer Sign-Off – Rafzan Engineering will review the documents, verify compliance, and then issue a Work-As-Executed Certificate.

  • Provide to Council/Certifier – Submit the signed WAE Certificate (together with the survey plan) to your Council or Private Certifier for your final Occupation Certificate (OC) approval !

Important Notes

·         All costs for engaging the surveyor are the responsibility of the client.

·         Rafzan Engineering can only certify works based on the verified survey.
